Bodies of Volunteers Killed in Lighting Strike to Return Home Mon.

The bodies of two South Korean volunteer workers who were killed in a lightning strike in the mountains of Sri Lanka will return home this week.

The state-run Korea International Cooperation Agency or KOICA says it agreed with family members of 24-year-old Jang Mun-jeong and 22-year-old Kim Yeong-wu to return their bodies to Korea on Monday.

The families flew to Sri Lanka Sunday and arrived at the funeral site in Colombo early Monday and mourned their loved ones.

Three others who were injured in the lightening strike will be coming back to Korea as well.

The KOICA members met up in the mountainous Haputale region, 170 kilometers from Colombo, around 5:30 p.m. Saturday local time to exchange volunteering information when the group was struck by lightning.
