Chavez Reelected as Venezuela's President

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has been reelected to a fourth term.

Chavez extended his rule for six years by winning the presidential race on Monday with nearly 55 percent of the vote. Opposition forces promptly accepted the election results.

Some of the major tasks that lie ahead for Chavez are concerns about his health given that he is recovering from cancer as well as Venezuela’s economic conditions and wide income gap.
