'Japan Unchanged on Taking Dokdo Issue to ICJ'

Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura says Japan’s position remains unchanged, reiterating that Japan wants to take the territorial dispute over the Dokdo islets to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Japan’s Kyodo news agency quoted Fujimura as saying on Friday in a news conference that the Japanese government is making preparations to file a suit.

The remark goes against a comment made by a senior Japanese official the previous day.

Japan’s Parliamentary Senior Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Shuji Kira on Thursdsay hinted that Tokyo will delay taking the issue to the court.
