A global e-government forum kicked off in Seoul on Thursday. The event brought together 50 countries from around the world to share South Korea’s experience in establishing its e-government system and expertise it acquired during the process.
The forum, hosted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the United Nations, is being held to discuss how countries can implement and develop their own e-government systems. The event introduced state-of-the-art mobile, cloud and big data technologies developed by companies as well as leading experts and scholars.
Exhibition booths to promote the excellence of South Korea’s e-government system and the individual domestic companies that developed such technology were also established at the venue so that foreign governments can hold consultations on exporting the system.
On Friday, which is the last day of the event, a Seoul declaration will be adopted, calling for members to hold the event regularly to share their e-government development experiences and to form a global network.
