Aversion and violence toward foreigners is increasing in financially-stricken Greece.

The hatred toward foreigners has apparently also spread to Greek police, after it was discovered police brutally beat a foreigner who was burning trash.

On October 16th, a South Korean traveler was punched in the face by a police officer when he asked the officer to show his identification card upon being stopped for questioning.

The South Korean Foreign Ministry and the South Korean traveler filed a complaint with Greek police who issued an apology and decided to launch an investigation.

The Greek government has decided to devise a law to end the anti-foreigner sentiment.
