Beijing Enters Emergency Mode Ahead of National Congress

Beijing City has entered emergency mode ahead of the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party set to open on November eighth.

Beijing Daily reported on Tuesday that the capital will operate under emergency mode until November 16th to provide various services such as transportation and power for the important political meeting.

The Chinese Communist Party has yet to announce detailed schedules of the congress except the opening date.

The congress is held roughly once every five years for seven days and the top leadership will be elected the day after the congress ends.
