G20 Nations Refocus Economic Policy for Growth

The Group of 20 major economies have switched the focus of their economic policies from austerity to reform and growth.

Following a meeting in Mexico City on Monday, finance ministers and central bankers of the G20 countries said in a joint statement that they will maintain efforts to boost financial health through belt-tightening measures at an appropriate level to ensure sustainable growth.

The statement stressed that austerity efforts should not discourage growth.
