U.S. media polls show that recent events such as Hurricane Sandy and presidential TV debates had little effect on Americans on election day.

According to early exit poll results released by CBS News, only 19 percent of voters answered that they recently made a decision on who to vote for for president, while 79 percent said they made up their minds before October.

Associated Press exit polls indicate that about 60 percent of voters cited the economy as the most pressing pending issue in the U.S. Other pending issues included health insurance, the budget deficit and foreign policy.
