South Korean singer PSY has lectured to students at the University of Oxford amid the global popularity for his megahit song “Gangam Style.”

PSY is the first South Korean singer to lecture at the British university. He spoke to the students at the Oxford Union building on Wednesday, local time.

The singer was playful when he began his talk on how his song, “Gangnam Style” became a global hit. But he also spoke frankly about the hardships he has faced as a singer.

PSY said that he wants to be a singer who brings Korean songs to the world stage, rather than mimicking and copying Western music.

The 80-minute-long lecture ended with PSY performing his famous horse-riding dance with the students.

Earlier this week in Paris, he led a flash mob of some 20-thousand in Trocadero sqaure opposite the Eiffel Tower.
