2012 to Go Down as Hottest Year in US History

A U.S. daily reports that 2012 will be recorded as the hottest year in U.S. history.

The Daily News of New York cited a report from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as saying the average temperature through October was the highest since records were first kept in 1895.

The average temperature during spring was the highest because of unusually hot weather in March. The temperature in July was the third highest in history.

Nonprofit organization Climate Central attributed the high temperatures to global warming.
