Russia to Send Key Parts for Naro Rocket This Week

The space center in Russia that produced the first stage of the Naro space rocket says it will provide South Korea within the week key parts needed to get Naro back on the launchpad.

An official of the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center told South Korean media via telephone on Wednesday that the center will send adapter blocks and rubber seals this week. The official added that Russian space experts will also be heading to South Korea soon.

The official also said the space center is coordinating views with South Korea on a new launch date.

Naro was originally scheduled to take flight on October 26th but was kept on the ground when a leak was discovered in a connection between the first-stage of the rocket and the launchpad.
