Anti-government activists are representing Syria at an Arab League summit, which opened in Qatar on Tuesday, local time.

Four delegates took the seats assigned for Syria at the summit. The chief Syrian representative is Mouaz al-Khatib, former president of the Syrian National Coalition, the association of Syrian opposition organizations.

Syria’s national flag was also replaced by the flag of Syrian anti-government rebels.

In Damascus, the Syrian government led by President Bashar Assad blasted the Arab League’s move, calling it a selling-out of Arab identity.
