Brazil Pres. Hopes to Meet Pres. Park Soon

Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff says she hopes to meet South Korean President Park Geun-hye and discuss ways to develop the two nations' relations soon.

Rousseff said in a written reply to questions by South Korean correspondents that she hoped to meet the South Korean president and there will be many things they can do together.

The Brazilian president said that the rise in the number of female leaders is the result of the struggle for gender equality and the evidence of social development. She stressed that the distribution of rights and responsibilities between men and women should be more equal.

Rousseff is the first female president of Brazil. She took the written interview to mark the inauguration of South Korea’s first female president, 54th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries and the 50th anniversary of the South Korean people’s emigration to Brazil.
