S. Korean Tourist Killed by Shark in Guam

A missing South Korean man has been confirmed dead from a shark attack in Guam.

Local media said fishermen discovered on Monday the body of a 40-year-old South Korean, identified only by his surname Kim, in Asan on Guam’s western shore. Kim went missing on Saturday in Tumon Bay.

An autopsy report found that Kim was still conscious when he was attacked by a shark before drowning.

Professor of Marine Biology Terry Donaldson at the University of Guam Marine Laboratory said Kim was likely swimming over the edge of the reef where larger sharks can be found.
