The chimes of Big Ben will be silenced as a show of respect during the funeral of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on Wednesday.

Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow said in a statement that the act is a tribute to the late prime minister.

The chimes will fall silent during the duration of the funeral that begins at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul’s Cathedral.

They were silenced during the funeral of Winston Churchill in 1965 as well.
