FAA Forced to Furlough 47,000 Employees with Federal Budget Cuts

Federal budget cuts in the United States have forced the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to furlough around 47-thousand airport employees. Each employee will lose one day of work every other week.

Following the furloughs that started on Sunday, major airports in New York and California experienced delays in arrivals, raising concerns that airports will soon suffer major traffic jams.

Airline trade groups and the country's biggest pilots union sued the FAA to try to stop the furloughs.
