US: N. Korea Nuke Issue to be Discussed at US-China Summit

The U.S. government says Washington and Beijing share the view that denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is essential in order to resume dialogue with North Korea.

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters Tuesday that both nations are working closely together on the North Korean nuclear issue, and she’s sure it will be discussed at the U.S.-China summit this weekend.

Psaki did not comment when asked if China tried to convince North Korea to give up its nuclear tests when the North’s special envoy Choe Ryong-hae visited Beijing last month.
