S. Korea Reports 87 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Now at 8,652

South Korea reported 87 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, with the daily growth figure falling below 100 again. 

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(KCDC) said that as of 12 a.m. Friday, the cumulative number of cases stood at eight-thousand-652 including the new cases. 

The daily figure of new infections had remained below 100 for four days before rising to 152 on Thursday. 

Of the 87 new cases, 47 were from Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, while Seoul and Gyeonggi Province reported 17 and 14, respectively. 

The virus-related death toll nationwide rose to 94, while the number of those released from quarantine after fully recovering from the disease reached two-thousand-233.
