The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing five-point-56 points, or zero-point-75 percent, closing the day at 737-point-54.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened 14-point-one won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-339-point-one won.
