The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining 13-point-33 points, or one-point-87 percent, closing the day at 725-point-59.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened four-point-eight won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-351-point-eight won.
