To Whom It May Concern,

Thank you for not editing out too much Kim Seon Ho on this week 2D1N! I certainly miss the bonding and the interaction of the six of them together.  I appreciate the hard work of the pd Bang and her team to do the challenging edit work to please the Korean viewers.

I would like to take the opportunity to address KSH’s issue. Korean dramas and variety shows have put South Korea, this beautiful country, on the world stage. It shows off the Korean culture and your talents! Unfortunately, this KSH’s issue also shows the world the ignorant side of South Korean and the ugliness of social media there. An apparent private matter between KSH and his girlfriend turned into a public drama by the evil intention of his girlfriend and some media that want to contribute to the downfall of celebrities.  If KSH hurt his ex, then he is only accountable to her, but not to the public. He didn’t cheat on her, nor rape her, nor abuse her, and he was with her for over a year. He DID NOT COMMIT ANY CRIME! Abortion and sex are something very private between couples, and her ex just aired out all her dirty laundries to the world, and went “oops, everything is fine now!” and disappeared. I believe the legal and judicial system is well in place in South Korea. Legal authority won’t arrest or prosecute anybody without investigating the truth. So why do South Koreans entertainment assassinate his career based on her one-sided story?

As a national broadcasting corporation, I believe KBS has certain social responsibility to educate South Korean about judging other people personal lives and the abusive use of social media. There is no perfect culture nor country in this world. But there is a common standard of respect and fairness in treating other people including celebrities as they are also human beings. The suicidal rates are so high there because people cannot breathe living under this unreasonable condemnation environment. I certainly agree that we have to observe the celebrities if they do wrong or commit criminal activities as they are the role models for the young generation. I do hope KBS will lead the way in bringing positive changes or influence to this toxic culture! I look forward to the day that South Korea not only showing the world their talents in entertainment business but also your gracious and sensible culture.  International fans love KSH because of his kindness and respectfulness to people around him, and he has a positive influence to them and they are learning from him!
