<2014 New Year's Special> Incheon: the Host City of the 2014 Asian Games and a Future Global Hub

2014-01-01

Incheon, the gateway to Korea, occupies an important place in Korean history. Being the first port to open to western influence in the late 19th century, the city has served as home to foreign settlements, a pivotal landing point for a military operation during the Korean War, an industrial hub that powered Korea's miraculous economic growth in the 1970s and 80s, and finally the host city for the 2014 Asian Games.
The New Year's Special on KBS World Radio takes a closer look at this amazing city on the western coast of Korea.
