Young actor Kim Hye-sung has joined the "Red Campaign" aimed at raising funds to prevent and eradicate AIDS in Africa.

Kim will model for a photo album that will be part of the campaign, which was launched by the lead singers of the famous rock band U2, Bono and Bobby Shriver.

The Red Campaign is aimed at raising funds for the prevention and eradication of AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis in Africa. Sponsored by Oprah Winfrey, the campaign has so far been joined by Steven Spielberg, Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson and other Hollywood stars.

Kim says he decided to join the campaign because he realized that the pain and suffering of people on the other side of the globe must not be overlooked, and because he hopes that his participation will be of help in alleviating the pain caused by AIDS and malaria.
