Lee Byeong-Hun Cast In Anh Hung Tran Film
Hallyu actor Lee Byeong-Hun has been cast in noted Vietnamese-French director Anh Hung Tran’s new film “I Come With The Rain.”
According to Lee’s agency, BH Entertainment, the actor has been in Hong Kong since the 16th to shoot the new film.
“I Come With The Rain” is being produced by France Central Films, with investments from France’s TF1 International and US company Aramid Entertainment.
The thriller tells the tale of Kline, a former-LA cop turned private eye, who travels to Hong Kong to find a missing child. Lee plays Su DongPo, leader of a local gang.
Director Tran said that he first took notice of Lee after watching “A Bittersweet Life.” Tran was impressed and wanted to work with the Korean actor.
The Vietnamese director added that the character of Su DongPo is both vulnerable and intimidating at the same time and felt that the only actor who could pull off the part was Lee.
Celebrated director Tran has won numerous awards, such as the International Film Critics Award at the 46th Cannes Film Festival in 1993 and an Oscar nomination for “The Scent of Green Papaya,” and the Golden Lion award at the 52nd Venice Film Festival for “Xich Lo (Cyclo)” in 1995.
Hollywood star Josh Hartnett will play the lead character of Kline; Lead actress of “The Scent of Green Papaya” Tran Nu Yen-Khe will play Lee’s on-screen girlfriend Lili; and US actor Elias Koteas and Hong Kong actor Shawn Yue have also been cast in the film.
