Marion Hoffman is the new representative for the Seoul office of the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR). Prior to arriving in Korea in February 2005, she spent four and a half years at the Albania office of the UNHCR.

The Vienna, Austria, native has worked for the commission for twenty-seven years in countries such as Greece, Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan.

She says she felt a calling to help people who were displaced and who had lost everything -- their homes, country and family -- and to help them regain some of those things.
