Suki Kim

Suki Kim is a writer whose first novel "The Intrepreter" has received raves for its gritty portrayal of a second-generation Korean-American woman in New York.

The New York resident recently visited Seoul to promote the Korean-language version of her book.

The novel won the 2004 Pen Beyond Margins and Gustavus Myers Outstanding Book awards and was runner-up for the 2004 Pen Hemingway Prize.

Born in Seoul, Kim moved with her family to New York at age 13. A graduate of Barnard College, she later studied at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.

Her nonfiction work has appeared in The New York Times, The New York Review of Books, Boston Globe and Newsweek magazine.
