The first KMA, ‘Album of the Year’ goes to The The
The The has won the Album of the Year award for their album "The The Band," and Loveholic's song "Loveholic" was chosen Song of the Year in the first Korean Music Awards (KMA), held Mar. 17th at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul. Wheesung and Lee Sang-eun were named Best Male and Female Artist, Big Mama was honored as the Group of the Year Award, and Breakthrough Artist of the Year went to Jung Jae-il. The winners were selected based on the results of online polls and scores from a panel of 17 critics, producers, newspaper reporters and music magazine editors. The event was hosted by singers Lee Sang-eun and Kim Kwang-jin and included performances by Nell, Asoto Union, Defconn, Wheesung, Big Mama, BMK, Chaejusonyon and others. The hosts and musicians did not receive any payments for their appearances as an expression of support of the festival's ideals.

BoA publishes a collection of essays in Japan
'The most influential singer in Asia, BoA, will publish a book of essays on Mar. 25th in Japan. Entitled
, the book includes photos and essays written on the basis of the e-mails and replies BoA exchanged with her fans for 8 months on a radio show in Japan. The book also includes a part where BoA introduces various aspects of Korean culture like food and products unique to Korea on various corners of interesting Korean streets. BoA’s book of essays will be available only in Japanese.
