Singer Lee Moon-se will take a crack at climbing up the Himalayas with mountaineer Um Hong-gil. Lee wrote an article entitled “Himalayas, you be there” on his web-site in which he said he would accompany a mountaineering team led by Um Hong-gil who will soon leave for the 8,505-meter Yallungkang, the western peak of Kanchenjoonga of the Himalayas and the 5th highest peak in the world. The departure will be on Apr. 19th. Lee said that he will work as a member of the supporting team and will climb up to the base-camp that will be set up on the 6,000-meter point of the mountain. He added that it takes 12 days to get to the base-camp and from the 3,000-meter point, the climb will be extremely tough, as all the members will have to adapt to the high altitude. Lee is known to have trained with Um for quite a while. Lee said that he would use this opportunity as a leaping stone for his 20 years of music career.
