JK Kim Dong-wook makes songs of late singers into special album
30-year-old Singer JK Kim Dong-wook will release a special album consisting of works by late local and overseas pop musicians. Starting with “White Butterfly” by Kim Jeong-ho, a total of 22 songs including “The Hidden Road” and “A Sad Letter” by Yoo Jae-ha, “Around Thirty” by Kim Gwang-seok and “Close To Me” by Kim Hyun-cheol will be featured in the album. The 2-CD album will also include Elvis Presley’s “It’s Now Or Never”, John Lennon’s “Imagine” and “Too Much Love Will Kill you” by Queen. With his low-tone voice that appeals to many pop music lovers, JK Kim Dong-wook presents the songs in his own unique style. “White Butterfly” was arranged into swing-jazz while “A Sad Letter” and “Close To Me” were reincarnated as bossa-nova. Although he was cautious in his remaking of the works by these late, great figures of pop, Kim said that through it all, he intended to remain honest to his own style while re-interpreting the famous music.
