The “Winter Sonata” Syndrome hits the Oricon Chart of Japan
The OST of “Winter Sonata” has entered the top 10 of the Oricon chart in Japan on the 6th place, after 35 weeks since the music first appeared on the chart. This is the first time in 8 years that an OST album for a television drama has ranked in the top 10 of the Oricon chart. In 1996, the OST of “Long Vacation” starring Kimura Takuya had recorded 10th place in the chart. This is the first time that a Korean drama OST was ranked in the top 10 of the music chart. Before Winter Sonata, only 4 TV drama OST albums had entered the top 10 of the Oricon chart. “Tokyo Love Story”, “101st Proposal”, “Tell me you love me” and “Long Vacation” were the 4 dramas. Along with the OST album, other products related to Winter Sonata including DVD sets are known to be also increasing.
