Independent rock bands will stage a series of late-night weekend concerts during the month of June at Chongdong Theater in Seoul. Titled ''Live Addiction 2004,'' the concerts will begin at 10:30 p.m. and will feature up and coming rock bands playing with groups that have already made a mark in the indie rock scene. The June 4 concert will present the bands Linus' Blanket and Julia Hart. Punk group Asoto Union will take the stage on June 5. Purun Saebyok and Plastic People, two groups known to play a melancholy brand of rock, will perform on June 11, while singer-songwriter Yi Song-yol and rock band Rainy Sun will hold concerts on June 12 and 18, respectively. MOWG, an electric bassist who recently put out his first album, will perform on June 19. On June 26 and 27, folk duo Chaejusonyon and the ska-punk band Lazybone will be on hand.
