Newcomer female vocalist Red Rain who pursues the so-called “lounge music” held a special showcase on May 19th, 7:30 p.m. at the Seoul Hyatt. With 101 celebrities from the local press and the pop music world attending, Red Rain performed the songs in her debut album including “IF” and “I Will Wait For You”. Also, the music video of Red Rain’s title song “The Sea That Stole the Waves” was also revealed at the showcase. Female vocalist Lee Eun-mi who is a close friend to Red Rain appeared on stage as a guest singer. Local top session players like Kim Hyeong-seok, Ham Choon-ho, Shim Seong-rak and Shin Hyeon-goon participated as a band for the showcase. Red Rain is a newcomer to the local music scene who made her debut with a 17-track album entitled “Chocolate”. The main stage for Red Rain’s music has been high-class clubs in southern Seoul. “Lounge music” is a refined form of music that integrates many rhythms like jazz, swing, bossa-nova and techno.
