Shinhwa to hold concert in Singapore
Shinhwa will hold a full concert in Singapore--the first Korean pop music band to do so. The concert, part of Shinhwa’s 2006 Asian Tour, will be held on September 10th at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. This will be Shinhwa’s second visit to Singapore--their first was two years ago, when they took part in the Euphoria 2004 concert. The upcoming concert by Shinhwa is aiming to fuel the “Hallyu wave” in Singapore. Although Korean pop musicians and entertainers have become very popular in other Asian countries, Singapore has had comparatively weak responses to the Hallyu wave. However, more than 10 thousand Singaporean fans are expected to flock to see the Korean band perform live on stage. Shinhwa has been touring Asia since it released its 8th album, “State of the Art.” in May. So far, the Korean band has toured Shanghai and Bangkok. The band will wrap up its 4-month long Asian tour late this month after concerts in Tokyo and Osaka.
