Korean superstar BoA’s seventh regular album in Japan has soared to second place in the Oricon music chart on the very day it was released. Titled “Identity,” Boa’s latest album was ranked second in the Oricon daily album chart, following Japanese singer Funky Monkey Babys’ best album.

Before the album’s official release, BoA had disclosed the jacket of the “Identity” album. In it she her hair was in a boyish bob style and she wore a leather jacket, showing a new, masculine and tough persona.

Meanwhile, BoA is scheduled to hold a national tour titled “BoA LIVE 2010.” The tour will take her to nine major cities in Japan from February to April, starting in Kobe on February 17th and 18th, and stopping in such places as Fukuoka, Osaka, and Hiroshima.
