Kim Dong-ryul Named the Most Sensitive Singer/songwriter of the 1990s
The 1990s was the time when romantic and sensitive singer/songwriters enjoyed huge stardom. Then who would be the most beloved romantic singer/songwriter from the 1990s still admired today? Korea’s music portal site Bugs polled internet users from March 2nd to 8th and Kim Dong-ryul finished first with a nearly 38% response rate.

Kim’s solo hits include “Should I Say I Love Her Again,” “Etude of Memory,” and “The Words I Love You,” which are still rated the most touching songs of all time. He had also teamed up with Lee Juck to form a project group called Carnival and produced all-time favorites like “Dream of a Goose” and “It Was So Back Then.”

Other musicians named in the poll are Yoon Jong-shin, who composed Sung Si-kyung’s hits “You Were an Inspiration” and “On the Street,” Yoo Hui-yeol currently hosting his own music show “Yoo Hui-yeol’s Sketchbook” and Yoon Sang, who has recently expanded his musical expertise to electronic pop and documentary scores. Coming in at fifth was Kim Hyun-chul, who composed numerous hits like Lee Sora’s “I’m Happy” and “Please.”
