Girls Generation is off to a great start with the release of their first Japanese single, "Genie".?

According to a Japanese album chain HMV, the group's song "Genie" was ranked at number one on the Daily Single Sales Chart as of 10 AM on September 8th. On the overall chart, they were ranked at 14.

After holding their first showcase in the country on August 25th for 22,000 fans, the ladies of Girls Generation have burst onto the Japanese music scene with gusto. And this is only the start as the group is planning on releasing the song "Genie" in other Asian countries-- such as Thailand, Taiwan, and Malaysia.

On a side note, Hong Kong fans of the female idol group can catch them on September 11th for the SM Town Live 2010 World Tour concert.?
