The ultimate Korean world star, Rain, entered the military today, October 11th, 2011. To support him, 1,200 fans showed up from Korea and the world.

Rain will start his five week basic training after check-in at the Uijungbu 306 reserve barracks in Gyeonggi Province. Completing his training, he will serve for the next two years as an active-duty soldier.

Due to his role for the KBS 2TV drama "Fugitive" last year, he pushed back his mandatory service to this year.

Rain's been keeping busy until the last minute too. He held a nation-wide tour ending with a finale concert as part of the Gangnam Hallyu Festival on October 9th, on the main Young-dong road in Seoul. He also finished filming a new movie with Shin Sae-kyung "Emergency, Closer Sun".

It's been over 10 years since Rain first hit the kpop scene has a member of the 6-membered group Fanclub. He then re-debuted as a solo singer in 2002 taking on acting and modeling gigs too. He is easily one of the biggest stars in Korea today.
