K-Pop Its Own Genre On YouTube
One of the most popular websites online, YouTube has just given a huge nod to k-pop...by acknowledging it as a genre in their music category!

As of December 15th, k-pop is now its own category, similar to pop, rock, r&b, rap, folk, latin, etc. What's even greater for Korea is that this is the first time a country-specific musical genre has been added.

YouTube is working with Google on a special project called "Korea Go Global", which was brought up when the executive chairman of Google, Eric Schmidt, visited back in early November.

These talks led to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to join with Google Korea in signing an agreement for YouTube to help contribute in promoting Korean culture.
