Summer vacation season is in full swing and that means trips to the beach and long days at the pool. Today I’m going to introduce the hottest swimwear trends for the fashion conscious. Check out these trends before you hit the beach!

● Tip #1: Sportive Swimwear
First up, sportive swimwear is trending at the moment. Among other styles, long-sleeves are “in” this season, with rash guards still topping the 2016 summer swimwear trend charts. Also known as rashie, a rash guard is a tight-fitting shirt usually made of polyester, nylon, or spandex worn during watersports to help protect the skin from abrasion and sunburn. Sportive styles of swimwear including the rash guards were very popular among surf babes but now even K-pop idol stars such as AOA’s Seolhyun, Girls’ Generation’s Yuri and supermodel Han Hye-jin have been spotted rocking long-sleeve rash guards at the beach. Remember, skimpier doesn’t always mean sexier. To make a style statement, opt for a long-sleeve, cropped rash guard top and pair it with a bikini bottom. The options are endless when it comes to designs—everything from solid colored styles to those featuring wild patterns and prints are all hot at the moment.

● Tip #2: One-piece Styles
With the 90’s revival creeping into swimwear trends, one-piece swimsuits are back and better than ever. Flattering to all body types, one-piece styles are the way to go if you want to achieve an effortlessly chic look. There are many different options of one-piece swimsuits to choose from this season—including those in monochromatic neutral hues to super bright colors and those featuring cuts on the side or a bare back. In particular, strapless styles and off-the shoulder one-piece swimsuits are extremely hot this summer. Pick up your favorite style and add bangles and necklaces to the mix and create a chic resort look.

● Tip #3: Cut-outs
Lastly, slashed and cut-out swimsuits are a huge hit this summer. Cut-outs are not only trending in one-pieces but are also popular in bikini tops and bottoms. A variety of cut-out styles including halter, strapless and criss-cross are trending at the moment. If you are looking for a sexy yet classy look, try a one-piece cutout swimsuit featuring symmetrical slashes. Pair the look with strapppy wedge sandals and a floppy hat and you have a super cute look.
