Tips on How to Double Your Winter Wardrobe
Spring is around the corner but it’s not warm enough to dive into some of our favorite seasonal trends. As we enter the tricky in-between season of winter to spring, one top fashion tip to keep in mind is layering. To help you double your winter wardrobe, today I’m going to introduce easy-to-try layering tips.

Signaling a return to all things chic and effortless, the Spring 2017 runways featured plenty of layering looks to try—and as seen on the catwalks, one surefire way to beat the winter wardrobe blahs is to work with your favorite spring/summer staples.

*Tip #1: Dresses
First and foremost, spring/summer dresses are the perfect layering piece. Those flowy dresses you’ve packed away will actually look great with opaque tights and a snug cardigan over the top. In addition, turtleneck sweaters under dresses is another way you can wear your favorite summer dress. Whip out that blue dress from last summer, layer a white turtleneck underneath, and voila! You’ve doubled your winter wardrobe in seconds!

*Tip #2: Spring Jackets & Blazers
A variety of spring jackets such as denim blazers and biker jackets are not warm enough to be worn on their own when it’s still cold out. Layer your favorite denim jacket under a lightweight parka or a wool coat and add some extra warmth and style. In addition, layering a leather biker jacket under a coat is another chic look that is unbelievably easy to achieve. Pair a cream leather jacket with something as sleek and simple as a black turtleneck and black slacks combo and throw on a grey wool coat over and you have a super chic look.

*Tip #3: Shorts
Shorts can also be worn during the in-between season. The quintessential summer staple can be appropriate during the still-chilly months if worn with tights or leggings. Whip out your favorite denim shorts now—and pair with wool tights, a blouse, and a tailored blazer. Finish off with a peacoat and knee-high boots for a seasonal look.

*Tip #4: Crop Tops
Crop tops have been around for a couple of seasons and are here to stay this spring. We know how to rock them in the summer—but these are quite versatile, making them a go-to layering piece in the colder months. Wear it over a lightweight sweater or a long-sleeve buttondown or over your favorite LBD (little black dress) or LWD (little white dress) for an entirely new look.

*Tip #5: Sandals
Lastly, when it comes to shoes, we are not ready for flip-flops quite yet—but when styled right, sandals can be pulled off easily. One way to wear your favorite summer sandals now is to wear them with tights. Once a fashion don’t is now a fashion do—strappy sandals worn with either sheer or opaque tights have definitely been a key look on the catwalks. Wear sandals with tights and take your daily fashion repertoire to new heights!
