Over My Dead Body

2012-06-30

BG: 미인 - 신중현

"Stick it to the man!"
That's a classic line from a Jack Black movie
about rebelling, staying untamed,
and challenging starched authorities.

If you've experienced any injustice,
or saw someone undeserving of
a great reward or opportunity in life get away with what they don't deserve
or
when you seem to hit a wall no matter how honest, earnestly, steadfastly and passionately you pursue your goals.
Then, you will be able to relate to today's movie.

Especially if it's about those who were born with
a powerful spoon in their mouths
who made a living trampling all over the little guys
and got away with it.

You will get a good kick out of this movie

Titled Over My Dead Body or 시체가 돌아왔다.
It joins the ranks of movies that provide you with that "oomph!"

Aptly it stars Lee Bum-soo and Ryu Seung-beom.
Known and loved for their versatility.
Also known for doing outstanding jobs portraying
tragic, pathetic or outlandish characters.

Throw Kim Ok-bin in to that mix, and surprisingly,
she blends in well.

She actually wanted to do the role
played by Gong Hyo-jin in Love Fiction,
but I'm personally glad she got to be a part of this one instead.

We are back.

The movie features a tycoon and owner of
a huge company that gets away without paying his laid off workers
the compensations they more than deserve,

He goes one step further and hog the hi-tech microchip his staff
developed for himself to get even richer.

He plants the chip in his arm, and fakes his death
so he can get away with it... and be freed from
blame, responsibility or vengeance.

BG: 다짐- 조성모

A laid off worker played by Lee Bum-soo
plans a perfect revenge... involving stealing the CEO's corpse
and asking for ransom.
A rich man's body is worth it, even after he's dead.
But he didn't know about the chip.

He's thurst into the situation,
because the impulsive daughter of his co-worker wants vengeance!
She is played by Kim Ok-bin.
She's the muscles, he's the brains of the operation.

But they steal the wrong body,
and that corpse is not dead.
It's Ryu Seung-bum, who is trying to fake his death.
A part of his get-rich-quick insurance scam.

Things get messy, noisy and interestingly difficult to predict
even for hardcore movie fanatics.

And this is a great movie
because it tells you.

Everyone gets what he or she deserves in the end.

Life bringing you down?
nothing seems to be fair?

I say, if you've paid your dues,
and you've experienced some rainy days,
your sun will shine.

There are great things you have
that no one else will have.
So when you see your enemies celebrating
what little victory they have.
Let the baby have his bottle!
You are the bigger man.

Song Break: 난 멋있어 - YB 윤도현 밴드
