Mr. Gerald McLoughlin, Minister-Counselor for Public Affairs

Mr. McLoughlin has been newly appointed as the head of the Public Affairs section at the US Embassy in Korea.

Mr. McLoughlin's personal connection to Korea dates back to late 1970s as a peace corps volunteer, and this is his fourth time in the past three decades to serve at this diplomatic post here in Korea.

His love of the Korean people and things Korean is so evident that you can easily sense his vitality and eagerness upon meeting him.

He tells us what made him come back to Korea again and what his vision and plans are for Korea, as the new Minister Counselor for public affairs at the US Embassy in Seoul.

He also speaks fluent Korean and has one son with his Korean wife.
