'NK Declaration Won't Include Nuclear Weapons'

Top U.S. nuclear negotiator Christopher Hill says North Korea’s nuclear declaration will outline its nuclear program, such as nuclear materials and facilities, but will not include its nuclear weapons.

A U.S. embassy spokeswoman in Beijing quoted Hill as saying that the declaration expected this week will only list nuclear materials and facilities.

The U.S. envoy reportedly said that the weapons will be determined at a subsequent phase, adding that the purpose of the declaration at this point is to list all of their nuclear materials and nuclear facilities and programs.

Hill said the previous day that his government will take steps to remove the North from its terrorism blacklist once Pyongyang declares its nuclear programs and materials. Hill made the statement after meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Wu Dawei, in Beijing.
