The United States has reiterated that it has seen no indications that North Korea is in the process of rebuilding its nuclear facilities at Yongbyon.

State Department deputy spokesman Robert Wood said in a news briefing Thursday that U.S. monitors in the Yongbyon complex were able to ascertain that some equipment that had been moved to a storage site as part of the disablement process apparently was returned to its original location.

He was quick to add, however, that none of the equipment which was moved back is operational.

Meanwhile, the State Department again stressed that the North had made no demands that would restrict the operations of U.S. monitors in Yongbyon.

The department added that top nuclear envoys from South Korea, the U.S, China and Japan will meet in Beijing on Friday to discuss the recent developments of the North’s nuclear issue.
