Written: 2009-01-13 07:46:52Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

In his final news conference in office, U.S. President George W. Bush urged North Korea to honor the commitments it has made regarding the verification of its nuclear programs.

Responding to a question about the 'axis of evil' remark he gave in 2002, Bush said North Korea and Iran are still threats to U.S. security.

He said North Korea continues to pose a problem, saying that he is concerned the North may have a highly enriched uranium program.

He urged the North to honor the commitments it made to allow for strong verification measures.

Bush leaves office next Tuesday.
