Korean companies are seeking to bid for a high-speed rail construction project in the United States.

The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs says Lotte Engineering & Construction, POSCO Engineering and Construction and the Korea Rail Network Authority recently sent a 13-member delegation to the U.S. for related bid talks with U.S. Department of Transportation officials.

The high-speed rail will be built through eleven strategic locations, including California and Florida. Korean builders are eyeing to take part in construction of the Florida railway, which will be the first to be built in the United States.
