NK Soccer Team Might Visit US

As a diplomatic gesture, North Korea is considering sending its soccer team to the U.S. for a friendly match with an American pro team.

According to Radio Free Asia, the head of a magazine on taekwondo said that a North Korean soccer team will head to the U.S for a match with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Jung Woo-jin, the chairman of “TaeKwonDo Times,” said that Nike is positive it will be sponsoring a visit to the U.S. by the North Korean team, which will be comprised of 30 to 40 players.

The U.S. government-sponsored broadcaster said that the goodwill match, if it takes place, will serve as a chance to promote cultural and sports exchanges between the two countries.

The New York Philharmonic performed in Pyongyang last year, laying the foundation for bilateral cultural exchanges.
