A limited number of French secondary schools will set up Korean language and culture classes as part of their regular curriculum.

The South Korean Embassy in France said Wednesday that starting Thursday, four high schools in the northwestern city of Rouen will include Korean language and culture in its standard curriculum for the next two years.

It would mark the first time for any European secondary school to incorporate Korean classes into its curriculum.

Classes on Korean culture will cover Oriental painting, taekwondo, history, geography and calligraphy.
