Korea, China Express Concern Over NK Missiles

The foreign ministers of Korea and China have expressed their concerns regarding recent reports that North Korea may be preparing for a possible missile launch.

South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan met South Korean journalists in China on Wednesday after meeting with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.

He said he explained to China that North Korea's recent military threats and criticism of the South Korean government are not helping inter-Korean relations or the region.

Yu also said China has expressed indirectly its concerns, and those of surrounding countries, to Pyongyang asking it not to create tension in the region in regards to recent reports that it may be preparing for a possible missile launch.

Meanwhile, the minister said the countries participating in the six-party nuclear talks will soon start discussions aimed at resuming the currently deadlocked dialogue channel.
