A senior U.S. intelligence official says North Korea is about a month away from a planned launch of either a missile or a rocket.

The official, who commented on the condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press that although indicators suggesting a potential launch continue to emerge, a launch is not imminent.

The official also said the U.S. is monitoring the North’s assumed coastal launch site for any indications that the launch could come sooner than expected.

Meanwhile, worldwide defense magazine ‘Jane’s Defense Weekly’ said on Friday that satellite images show increased activity in the North which not only suggest the communist state is preparing for a missile launch, but that it could achieve launch capability by the end of February.
